Director of Academy

A motion has been made to discuss with the CGSA membership whether or not to amend the Bylaws to include the Academy Director position on the Board of Directors. If the motion comes to a vote and the position is approved, the duties will be decided upon by the new board of directors. 

Following are the duties that the current Academy Director has performed during the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 seasons:

- Responsible for oversight of the U9-U12 boys & girls youth competitive (travel) soccer program (as defined by GA Soccer)
-  Coordinates seasonal schedules (Fall and Spring) with other GA soccer affiliate clubs (normally with club Academy Director)
- Schedules games throughout season against opponent club teams ensuring match-ups against similarly skilled teams (levels of CGSA teams determined by DOC & team trainers)
- Coordinates with Commissioner and Referee Assignor for field and referee availability for weekend games at CGSA.   
- Recruits, assigns, trains and provides necessary support and information to volunteer team managers
- Assists DOC (as requested) with team tryouts, team formation, and trainer assignments for each academy age group / team 
- Ensures GA Soccer rosters and player cards are created prior to competition against outside clubs (tournament or regular season) using GA Affinity website
- Disseminates information to teams (through email and club website) for weekend games and match-ups. 
- Assists teams with tournament registration (logistics, coordination with treasurer & ensuring adherence to trainer fee agreements (IAW trainer contracts)
- Addresses any discipline / behavior concerns and refers to DOC and Commissioner when necessary 
- Coordinates with Director of Fields & Maintenance and volunteers during the week to ensure Academy fields are lined and prepped prior to weekend games.
